• Double glazing are sandwiches of glass and vacuum or glass and rare gas (argon) expensive and better.

• Glazing designated 4-16-4 means 4mm glass, 16mm void and 4mm glass.

• The size of the windows and their arrangement should be calculated according to the bioclimatic layout of the house (passive solar gain).

• Beware of entry-level prices, windows are generally miserable and certainly not able to play their role for the next 20 years!
