When we start building a swimming pool, we tend to focus on the pool and neglect other aspects. This is the case of the technical room, which we often tend to consider as secondary. This is a mistake, because the technical room actually occupies an essential place in your installation. A well-installed and well-equipped technical room can greatly facilitate your life in terms of the proper functioning of your swimming pool, on the other hand, a poorly designed technical room can be a source of problems. This is why it is important to properly prepare the design of the technical room when building your swimming pool.
THE TECHNICAL ROOM
THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT & EQUIPMENT
The hydraulic circuit consists of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pipes. For private pools, the outside diameter of these is, in most cases, 50 or 63 mm.
The disorders that affect the pipes are characterized by:
Detachment of fittings
The breakage of pipes under the weight of the earth or the effect of a stone being punched on the pipe.
The equipment is placed in the technical room and consists of:
- A sand filter for water filtration
- An electro-pump unit for water circulation
- A water treatment device
- A multi-way valve to ensure the selection of the operation.
Water losses are visible because they very often occur at screw connections.
Well-designed technical room?
The design of the technical room
The technical room houses sensitive equipment, so it must be isolated from the outside elements but nevertheless ventilated.
Some equipment is quite noisy (pumps, heat pumps), depending on the distance between your technical room and the swimming pool and / or the neighborhood, it may be wise to install sound insulation.
If you choose to store your water treatment chemicals in the technical room, make sure it can be locked to prevent children from accessing it.
